Company description:

Health Data System Limited (HDS) was registered in Kenya as a limited liability company under Cap 486 of Kenyan Law on 19th February 2003. The Company intends to establish an electronic healthcare information clearing house targeting the various players in the health sector including health providers, medical insurance providers, independent medical scheme administrators, medical scheme owners and patients.
The company began operations at DRS House, Lusaka Road on 24th February 2003. Since February 2004 the company has been located at Rahimtulla Tower Building, Upper Hill to ensure seamless services to its Medi-Sat Clients.
In order to meet the various stakeholder needs described above, HDS plans a comprehensive group of products, some of which are already in existence.
MEDI-SAT (MEDICAL INFORMATION SWITCH)
Medi-Sat is a comprehensive healthcare information management solution that provides connectivity between healthcare providers and medical schemes using a unique infrastructure to support workflow processes for (1) eligibility and benefits verification (using smart cards and biometrics technologies); (2) electronic data interchange (EDI); (3) claims managements; (4) utilization management, and more.
MEDI-CLAIMS (MEDICAL CLAIMS & UNDERWRITING SYSTEM)
Medi-Claims is a multi-user medical claims and underwriting management system that will cover the processing of medical claims and provide users – the different sections and functions within the payer’s medical department – and management with respective access to day-to-day functions and information as required.
Medi-Claims is designed to have the capacity to absorb the current and future levels of growth in terms of processing capability, reliability and consistent storage of data & information, timely payment of claims and provision of timely information to clients.
