Company description:
CISP (International Committee for the Development of People) is a European Non-Governmental Organization set up in 1982 and formally established in 1983. CISP’s priority sectors in international cooperation are the following: rural development, poverty alleviation and food security (agriculture, livestock, fisheries and aquaculture), rural and urban health, education and environmental management.
CISP has worked in Kenya since 1988 and in Malindi since 2000. CISP is the only Italian NGO to focus on the coast province. In the last seven years CISP has promoted and implemented projects in the areas of income generating activities (IGAs), employment creation and sustainable livelihood programmes, Capacity Building, Community Mobilization/Participation, Health, HIV/AIDS, Education and Environmental Conservation. It has mobilized funds from the Italian Government, FAO, European Union, through the CDTF and private sources.
During its presence, CISP has worked hand in hand with the relevant government departments at district level, developing effective and productive relationships with local authorities as well as creating networks of local partners in rural and urban communities.
